Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I was thinking about adding another memory module to my laptop, which is an HP Pavilion DV6 - 3125ej.

I checked and currently it has one module of 4GB and one free slot.

Would it support 2x4GB=8GB of RAM? What's the maximum the motherboard supports?

I couldn't find info on that matter anywhere...

See chapter 1 of the Maintenance and Service Guide on your notebook's support page for the memory upgrade info.

 

HP Pavilion dv6-3125ej Entertainment Notebook PC Manuals | HP® Customer Support

 

2 x 8 GB of DDR3-10600 memory is supported.

 

Notebooks with the Mobile Intel Series 5 chipsets are very hard to find compatible memory.

Weird I didn't find the manual, but anyway, thanks!

I ordered a 4096MB module from the same brand (Hynix) with the same specifications to add to my current one, I hope it won't give me any trouble.

You're very welcome.

 

If it met the description of the type of memory chip that works, the Hynix memory should also work.

 

8 little black chips on each side of the memory board

1.5V, not 1.35V

DDR3-10600
