What's the maximum memory speed & RAM capacity the motherboard of HP-15-AC026TX can boot off of ?

Currently I have 2X4GB DDR3L 1600 installed in two RAM slots, I was wondering if the board can boot off of higher speed RAM stick like 1866 or 2133 MT/s, also thinking of getting 2x8GB sticks instead of current 2x4 for total of 16GB, I am aware the hardware is not upto par to fully utilize anything above 8GB but I'm curious nonetheless.

Hi:

Your notebook can support 2 x 8 GB of DDR3L-1600 memory, and DDR3L-1866 memory would be very expensive and only run at 1600 MHz anyway.  Just use compatible 8 GB DDR3L-1600 memory chips for the least expensive and best results.

You can do this to see how much memory your notebook can support:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
