Bought the hp-17-by3053cl laptop yesterday and it comes with 12 GB Memory (4+8GB).  How do I find out what is the maximum memory supported by this laptop  ?

I couldn't find this information in the tech specifications or in any manual.

Thanks in advance.

Hi:

Below is the link to the Crucial memory report for your model.

https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-17-by3053cl

According to the report, it can support as much as 2 x 32 GB of memory.

I don't see a service manual on the support page though.

Here is a link to one for the older models in the 17-by series.

It may be of help for taking the notebook apart if the case design hasn't changed.

Here is the link to the support video gallery for the older models in the series...has a few disassembly videos.
