Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

Does anyone know what the maximum size is for an SD / MMC memory card, to be used on a Pavilion G6 laptop?

How much Gb can an SD / MMC card have, to be readable and writable on this notebook?

Could we use a 512 Gb / a 256 Gb memory SD card - or can this laptop only read a smaller SD card?

Can the SD card remain inside the memory slot when the laptop is turned off, or does one need to take out the SD card before switching off the laptop?

(For info - our notebook is an HP Pavilion G6-1117EO, which we purchased in February of 2013. Originally it had Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit installed. We have recently updated it to Windows 10 Home 64-bit.)

Thanks for your kind attention.

Either of those will work.

Yes, you can leave it in the slot when the notebook is turned off.

Your notebook  does support SDXC, so the maximum capacity will be 2TB.

Thank you, Erico, for your quick reply.

That is really good to know. It will greatly increase the data storage capacity for our notebook.

Weʼre going to try it with a Sandisk or Kingston SDXC card of 512 Gb, which will double the laptopʼs file storage.

Being able to keep the memory card in the slot is very handy while travelling.

Thanks again & good evening,
