HP only offered NVMe SSD's up to 512 GB in the model series, but that is normally just what they offered and not the maximum capacity supported.

Unfortunately, there are no programs you can use to determine how large a capacity NVMe SSD you can install.

Theoretically, the sky's the limit as long as the drive is single-sided.

The Crucial memory report for your notebook indicates that they sell NVMe SSD's up to 4 TB in storage capacity.

Your notebook's M.2 slot is PCIe Gen 3.0.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your reply.  I have since installed a Samsung 990Pro 4 TB in the laptop and it seems to be working great.  As the laptop has a PCEI Gen 3 slot and the SSD is Gen 4, I am not getting the maximum speed out of the SSD but it is much faster then the original 512 GB SSD and the additonal cost of getting a new Gen 4 SSD is slightly more than Gen 3 so I went that route.

Thankis again for your support!

You're very welcome.

The Samsung 990 Pro is an excellent choice.
