HP Pavilion 15 AU106-TX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I currently have a stock 4GB 2133MHz on my machine, and added another 4GB 2133MHz. I'm thinking on upgrading to 16GB (2x8GB) but I'm having a hard time searching locally for the same frequency. Can I change to two sticks with 2400MHz each?

Thanks

Yes you can use the following compatible RAM

    https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/pavilion-15-au106tx/CT11665539

But DDR4-2400 bridge to DDR4–2133 that means they will run at abit slower speed.

Regards.

I can only use that kind of memory stick? I'm planning on getting corsair vengeance or Kingston impact. Will there be any complications?

Additional,

I experience using 2400MHz last 2 years ago. Because they said the exact thing you said, that it will run matching with the lowest stick. But I always experience blue screen. Now I'm puzzled if I change both to 2400MHz will I experience hardware failure or not?

There is no reason and no advantage to installing performance or gaming type memory. It usually has more aggressive timings which are not compatible with the motherboard so are adjusted to run just like OEM memory so your extra money you paid is wasted. Get standard DDR4-2400 memory as that is what it's designed to use. It will bridge or downclock to 2133.

As linked above by @banhien. Crucial will guarantee it if you buy off the page for your model.

So even I place two 2400Mhz sticks, it will still run at 2133Mhz?

Edit:
I tried crucial and used their scanner, and it says;

Yes that's right it is DDR4-2400 "bridged" to 2133. If Crucial does not have the memory try Kingston (but stay away from KVR Kingston Value RAM modules-HP laptops seem to have issues with them.) If Kingston does not have it post back and tell us where you live (country) and we will help you locate compatible memory.

But the link @banhien  provided is a specific Crucual product for your specific model so having trouble understanding why you are having trouble.

I have added an additional RAM almost 2 years ago, purchase in my local country.

from Speccyfrom Speccy

But right now I'm living in a foreign country, and will be purchasing the upgrade thru online. That is why I want to make sure of what RAM I will be ordering.

I'm having trouble on why when I use the scanner of crucial it says that there are no upgrades for my system.

Edit:

I have changed the country and it shows the compatible upgrade for my laptop.

https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/scanview/8B7F4B4E31D926C3

I'm not sure if you can see it, but if yes. Are these all 100% compatible with my laptop?

Your link is not working for me. If the memory looks like the kind @banhien linked above you are good to go.

Hi,

Yes, the part number is the same. It also shows a list of possible memory.  It also shows their Ballistix Sport type. May I know why gaming memory will be a waste? I'm eyeing on them because I will be running some CAD applications and simulations.

Thanks
