Notebook 15-DA2004nx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Greetings! I would like to upgrade my laptop memory since my laptop kept on freezing. My ram currently is 4GB and I would like to upgrade it to 12gb or 8gb, I would like to ask how much memory would you suggest to me? My tasks are mostly school works like 7+ tabs, 3-4 apps opened at the same time, an antivirus software that is consuming 300MB of my ram. Also may I kindly ask for the memory upgrade instructions? ( laptop back case opening) My ram speed is 2666 and I am planning to buy a 8GB or 4GB memory with a speed of 2400 is that okay? Hoping for a quick response!

Hi:

HP has not posted a service manual yet to your notebook's support site.

Below is the link to the service manual for the older 15-da model series.  Hopefully that will help you open up the notebook.

There is also this video gallery for the older model series...

Your notebook has two memory slots and each slot can take an 8 GB DDR4-2666 MHz memory module.

Do not buy any memory modules that are slower than 2666 MHz.

They either will not work at all, or will slow down your notebook's memory/processor performance considerably.

Since your notebook has an Intel 10th gen core processor, it can probably take more memory than that, but since there is no manual for your model series, I cannot confirm that.

This would be a compatible 8 GB DDR4-2666 MHz memory module for your notebook.
