Hello,
I have a HP ENVY 17.3 inch laptop PC 17-cr0013dx that only has 12GB memory (1 slot - 4GB, 2 slot - 8GB). I would like to max out the memory at whatever the max is but I don't know what kind of memory to get. I believe my maximum memory is 64GB but am not sure on that either. Can someone guide me on whether this laptop can support the max memory, what the max is and what kind I should get?
I apologize in advance if this question is posted in the wrong board.
Thank you,
Ms Biddy

Hi:
I would go with the Crucial DDR4-3200 MHz memory since they indicate it is compatible with your notebook:
HP - Compaq Envy 17-cr0013dx | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com
Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the memory removal and replacement procedure:
Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)
Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates that 2 x 16 GB of memory is the maximum.
