Hi -- I just bought an HP Laptop 17-cp3322nr .
I went into task manager and found that the Ryzen 5 7430U (2.3 GHz) processor is using 3200 MT/s RAM, with Form factor SODIMM.
This laptop comes with 8 MB of RAM.
I just want to confirm the maximum RAM supported in this laptop. System specs say the RAM is upgradable. I also want to confirm that 2 8MB sticks of standard Crucial Memory, 3200, SODIMM, would work. Or is there something else I need to take into account here?
Thanks!

Looking further into this matter, I looked up the parts list for your notebook.

L83673-005 | SODIMM 4GB DDR4-3200 1.2v |
If it has a total of 8 GB of memory, then It comes with 2 x 4 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz memory, so the memory is definitely removable, and if you want to install 16 GB of memory, you would have to remove both 4 GB chips and install 2 x 8 GB chips.

Hi:
HP only has the service manual for the older 17-cp2000 model series and chapter 1 indicates the memory is not upgradable, but I believe that is incorrect for that model processor.
The crucial memory report indicates the model series will support 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz memory.

Thank you!
These are almost surely obvious, but I may as well cross the last t's and dot the last i's -- because Crucial's web-based 'advisor' couldn't locate/find an answer for the 17-cp3322nr.
(1) You are sure that the 17-cp3322nr falls into the category of cp3000, correct?
(2) if I decide I only need 2 8GB sticks, 3200 MHz, SoDIMM, that would of course work as well, correct?
Thank you again.

You're very welcome.
Yes, the report would cover allow specific models in the series
If your notebook came with 1 x GB of memory, and you want a total of 16 GB, you should only need to buy a single 8GB chip to install in the empty slot, but you better confirm that the memory can be removed since the service manual indicates that the memory can't be upgraded, and even the Crucial memory report indicates the memory is non removable, but then goes on to indicate they have compatible memory to install.
That's very confusing to me.

Thanks very much! Great to know about the parts list.
I know I was being very careful, but I really didn't want to order the wrong memory -- and the fact that Crucial couldn't find my laptop kind of threw me for a loop.
I really appreciate it. Walmart is selling these 17" laptops for $339, so I wonder if more people will be asking this question in the near future. It's pretty slow with only 8 GB of RAM, which is surely why they're selling it for that price. But add $30 of RAM and you have a decent laptop with the new-ish Ryzen 5 chip. Enough for what I do, anyway.
🙂

Anytime.
Glad to have been of assistance.
I have an older HP notebook that came with an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor, 16 GB of DDR4-3200 memory, and a 512 GB NVMe SSD, and I am very happy with it.
