Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hi,

I have a HP laptop which originally came with a measly 4Gb RAM and not surprisingly, has now practically become unusable due to performance degradation. I therefore wish to upgrade the memory and having carried out a scan to identify the best available option, I'm also eager to establish/confirm whether:

1. I can add an extra 8Gb memory module to the existing 4Gb to boost it up to a total of 12Gb?

2. This specific model supports the proposed memory upgrade?

Thank you.

Hi:

That model series only supports 32 bit operating systems.

The max memory a 32 bit operating system can 'see and use,' is 4 GB.

If you could add additional memory to it (which you can't), it would do anything to increase performance.

The service manual for the model series indicates that only 1 GB of memory is supported (page 1-3).

It think that is incorrect and the max would be 2 x 1 GB.
