Hi:

As long as the memory you buy has the same specs as the original one, it should work just fine.

To confirm that another memory module you buy will have the same specs as the one in your notebook now, I have zipped up and attached below, a free utility that will provide the complete memory specs, including the timing specs.

That way you can be more confident the  memory module will work with the one in your notebook now.

I have the memory specs through CPU-Z software. If i send it can you suggest a comparable upgrade from Kingston or samsung etc as micron is not available in India.

Hi:

What I suggest you do is to run the free Crucial memory scan tool and see what it reports.

That should give you a compatible memory module and you can compare it specs with your report.

I ran the Crucial system scanner. It gave following message:

Crucial currently does not have any compatible upgrades available for your particular system.

OK, then post the memory info the report gave you, and I'll see what I can find.

I'm in the middle of the United States, so I don't know if you will be able to buy the memory I might find in India.

I Think this might not work as it has CL 19. I require CL15.

I have found Amazon India has couple of 8 GB memory modules with 1.2v and 15CL and 2133 MHZ. Only problem whether they will work or not.

Yes, either might work, but neither of those modules are the same spec as the one HP installed in your notebook.

For some reason, they installed a PC4-21300 memory module in there, which can downclock to 2133 MHz.

I'm thinking you'll be OK with a 2133 Mhz memory chip, but I cannot 100% guarantee it.
