If your HP PC is stuck on a screen that says something like: Memory Test | Hard Drive Check | Language | Exit, it means your system has booted into the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI environment. This usually happens when:
- The system can’t find a bootable device (e.g., due to a failed hard drive or corrupted OS).
- You manually entered diagnostics by pressing F2 or Esc during startup.
1. Run the Hard Drive Check
- Use the arrow keys to select Hard Drive Check and press Enter.
- If the test fails, your hard drive may be damaged or disconnected.
- If it passes, the issue may be with the operating system or boot configuration.
2. Run the Memory Test
- Select Memory Test to rule out RAM issues.
3. Exit and Try Booting Again
- Select Exit and see if the system attempts to boot into Windows.
- If it still fails, you may see a message like “Boot device not found”.
4. Check BIOS for Boot Device
- Restart the PC and press F10 to enter BIOS.
- Go to Boot Options and check if your hard drive is listed.
- If not, the drive may be disconnected or dead.
5. Reinstall Windows (if drive is detected)
- If diagnostics pass but the system won’t boot, you may need to reinstall Windows using a bootable USB.
