Zbook Studio X360 G5 (I9-8950HK Quadro P200)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all,

I've recently bought an Zbook studio x360 with the I9-8950HK and the Quadro P2000 this model came with a single 16 Gb stick of memory.

I would like to upgrade it to 32 Gb (2 x 16 Gb), after looking online I found several kits but they al use a XMP profile to reach the advertised speed does this Zbook support XMP profiles?

Or should I buy an extra 16Gb stick from HP.

Any help would be great.

Hi,

Do you ECC memory or non-ECC memory?

How about these from Crucial

https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/hp-zbook-studio-x360-g5-mobile-workstation/CT13066866

Hope it helps,

David

Hi,

I have the Non-ECC but thanks for the tip did not see those.

The ECC is only supported with an Xeon if i'm not mistaking.

Yes, you are correct 😀

It probably will be much cheaper to buy from Crucial than with original part number.

David

I'd like to expand on the original posters question.

Crucial displays the 32GB (16x2) DDR4 3200 as being compatible with the Zbook Studio X360 G5 but I can't find anything else that states higher than 2600. Is the DDR4 3200 compatible?

Hi @Seanrc

It is compatible, but it will run at 2666MHz in the notebook. So, you can insert faster RAM which will still run at 2666MHz.

Hope it helps,

David
