Do I need to upgrade the RAM at the HP store only to avoid warranty void? Currently only 4GB. What is the MAX memory can I upgrade for this model?

Max is 16GB. You can upgrade using the following RAM

   https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP---Compaq/pavilion-14-bf103tx

You can upgrade yourself but Warning : This work is for Authorized Service Provider parts only. Doing it yourself may void warranty if something went wrong due to this upgrade

Regards.
