Hi,

 

i was looking at doing a DIY upgrade on the above laptop (that ships with 4GB of RAM).

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06913657.pdf (page 35) here it shows that you have to remove the rubber feet on the top side of  the bottom lid. The spare part (M16635-001) doesn't seem to be orderable, so has anyone ever done this without damaging it so  that it goes back on with good adhesion? the rest seems pretty straightforward to do. I'm assuming it would be an adhesive strip and not plugs or anything

Here is the service teardown video which seems to indicate that removing and replacing the rubber strips if you use the right tools will not damage them.
