Thank you for joining HP Forums.
I'll be glad to help you 🙂
As I understand the keyboard input is incorrect,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
Have you disabled the sticky & Filter keys to check if it resolves the issue?
While you respond to that, here's what you need to check:
There are two common keyboard issues that can occur during the normal operation.
The first is the Num Lock key gets accidentally pressed, turning a portion of the keyboard into a number pad.
The other is the keyboard language gets inadvertently switched from its original language to another, resulting in some letters and numbers appearing different on the screen than how they are typed.
Check the Num Lock key, Set the keyboard language, Update the BIOS and device drivers:
If you experience is persistent with the keyboard errors, such as the keyboard frequently switching modes,
try updating the notebook's BIOS and device drivers.
For more information, see HP Notebook PCs - Locate and Install Updated BIOS, Drivers, and Software.
For advanced troubleshooting on your concern: Click here
For other issues within the keyboard: Click here
Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.

Hi, um, I do not have sticky keys enabled Infact their actualy completly disabled due to the fact that I need to spam shift in certain games and hate that notification. that said not clue what fliter keys are. Alright as for the whole "numlock" I know what the numlock key does and it wouldnt affect my letters and symbol keys, and when numlock is enabled it still shouldn't do something like have it type 6.5 thats just off. and for the laungeges I went into depth with this one I changed it to the United kingdom to see it it would change it back to normal, that didn't work so I reset the english americas to default there are NO other keyboards installed, and I do not know how to use bios so Im not going to risk messing up more, unless you think thats the problem, or resultion for that matter

Thank you for replying with this detailed response 😉
I appreciate your time and efforts,
This is what I meant by Sticky & Filter keys:
-
In Windows, search for and open Settings.
-
In Settings, click Ease of Access.
-
Under Ease of Access, click Keyboard.
-
Make sure both Sticky & Filter Keys switch is set to Off.
If that didn't make any difference, please try with an external/alternate keyboard to check if that works fine,
If it does, it's a hardware malfunction with the inbuilt keyboard, if the external doesn't work either, please backup all personal data and create a new user account: Click here for steps, and check if that works.
If that doesn't work either, perform a push button reset: Click here for steps,
followed by the last resort, reinstalling windows to factory defaults: Click here for instructions.

Hi,
as @Riddle_Decipher is out of the office today, I'm replying to you.
You will need to pay only when you want to send your laptop in for repairs. You do not have to pay to find out how much it will cost to get the laptop repaired.
Hope this helps. Keep me posted for any further questions. Cheers! 🙂
