HP Pavilion g6-1305es Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi:

Your notebook has a BIOS whitelist which prevents the installation of any Wi-Fi card other than the one that came with your notebook from working, and it must have the HP part number on it or it will not work.

That means you would have to find a used but tested and working Wi-Fi adapter on eBay.

Search by the HP part number, not the model of the Wi-Fi card.

Unfortunately, i don't know what model Wi-Fi card came with your notebook, so you will have to remove the card and inspect it.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure.

One note:  If it is a Ralink model Wi-Fi card, then it is a usual issue for the Wi-Fi card to completely disappear from the device manager on the newer builds of Windows 10.

There is no fix.

If your notebook has a Ralink Wi-Fi card, you will have to use a USB Wi-Fi adapter.

I recommend this dual band model that also comes with Bluetooth.
