I have a new HP 255 G10 without Windows.
Now I have installed Win 11 on it. But the microphone is not recognized by Windows. The cam is working well.
In the device manager there are to unknown devices.
Which microphone is built in the 255 G10? Where can I find the driver?
On https://support.hp.com/de-de/product/setup-user-guides/hp-255-g10-notebook-pc I cannot find any driver for the microphone.
Best regards! Andim

I have the HP 255 G10, Ryzen 5 7530U, 16GB RAM w/o OS model here too and after installing Windows 11, I quickly noticed that the "Volume Mute" and "Mic Mute"-LED indicators on the keyboard weren't working. So I thought I was missing a driver for that. However after multiple attempts to fix the issue I later found out that my microphone array wasn't recognized by Windows at all. I updated all the drivers and still the Mic is not recognized. I also just noticed that the volume level of my speakers can NOT be regulated. It is either at max volume or off, no matter the displayed volume level. Please provide a timely fix for that issue, HP. Otherwise I will be forced to return the device within the next few days. Thanks.

Ok, i did manage to find the problem, and fix the issue on my laptop.
I restored Win 11. and everything worked. the mic was recognized and the volume slider did it's job.
By fiddling around, i found that the culprit is the AMD Adrenaline drivers, installing those removes the microphone array AND borks the slider!
Since this is a work laptop i won't reinstall them again, but beware if you want to use those...

Hi,
I had the same problem. The solution from this forum worked for me:
Needed to install "Auto-Detect and Install Driver Updates for AMD Radeon..." sofware. Didn't even had to do a factory reset. It solved the issue automatically after the restart. Also fixed my problem with loudspeaker volume control.
