Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-s0000 (76T53AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Good day, I bought Victus Gaming Laptop 16-s0476ng (8D096EA#ABD) laptop in Germany. I am currently in Turkey.

The problem is that the Maintenance and Service Guide (32 page) says that the laptop has two m.2 slots for NVME hard disks. One on the left and one on the right. I have fully studied all the documentation for this laptop before I bought it, I will attach screenshots.

I also bought a second hard disk to insert immediately after purchase.

When I arrived in Turkey I found out that there is no second connector for NVME hard disk on the motherboard. Although it is pictured on the manual.

Where the second slot from Maintenance and Service Guide?Where the second slot from Maintenance and Service Guide?

I do video production and I need a second connector. I spent money on a second hard disk. I end up having to use NVME cases at 5 gigabits per second (USB 3.2 gen 1) when I need 40 gigabits per second with second slot.

Is there a motherboard defect in my laptop? Or are you misleading your customers?

I would like to get two m.2 NVME slots as stated in the Maintenance and Service Guide for this model.

How do I solve this problem?

I agree to replace the laptop with the same one but with two m.2 NVME slots. The laptop is fine, but this problem spoils the whole experience. I hope HP will do something about this problem.

First, let me say I am a fellow end user not an HP employee so I cannot adjust your issue in any way. Yes, the Service Manual shows 2 NVME slots but the Service Manual is not a marketing piece. The specs only speak of a primary storage option. You need to pursue your Complaint through HP channels and I wish you good luck. I have seen other models that have a pair of NVME slots, but if I recall the secondary is usually somewhat less capable, like one is a Gen 3 slot and the other is a Gen 4. It is difficult I guess to produce a laptop motherboard that has 2 full speed NVME slots.

Thanks. The last generation of these laptops had two full size m2 pci 3.0 2280 slots. There were no issues whatsoever. I believe this is an end user fallacy, I dug through all the documentation but only got to the bottom of it by opening the back cover. This is a deception.
