Hi everyone,
I would like to ask a question about a misleading information on a product either from the HP website or from the John Lewis website where I purchased my chromebook.
I bought the HP Chromebook 14a-nd0001na which I got it today. The description on the HP website states that the laptop has SD card slot while the John Lews website states that it doesn't have. The pictures on both websites shows pictures with sd card slot and pictures without sd card slot (very confusing).
I did the assumption that the John Lewis web site should have mistaken on the description that the laptop doesn't have SD card. But guess what; this chromebook doesn't have SD card slot. Hi HP team your descrpition is wrong.
Can someone help with this issue how I should approach it and what outcome I should expect?
Thank you in advance,
Platoon

Hi Banhien,
Thanks a lot for your response. As I wrote above I have purchased the hp-chromebook-14a-nd0001na from John Lewis and and you mentioned to your response it should have an SD card slot. Unfortunately the one I purchased doesn't have.
Below I have the link of the product form John Lewis, where you might find a difference (I couldn't find any, is exactly the same product the HP has in their web site).
How do you think I should aproach this situation?

According to the Maintenance and service guide the slot should be on the left hand side of the case
The specs say Micro SD so it will be a very small slot.

Check the model number printed on the device closely to ensure you were sent the right product.

Hi Repairtrooper,
Thanks for your response. I checked the serial number and the product ID on the box and everything matches with the details the chromebook has on it, so both device and box are mathching. I checked also the product ID and serial number on the HP web site and the chromebook should have had a SD card slot, which doesn't have (even the included manual shows sd card).
What should I do then? Do I have to raise a complaint to HP for the wrong information of the product? What do you believe it will be the outcome?
Thank you in advance,

Hi Huffer,
It doesn't make sense, because the retailer is taking the products from the HP.
1.The official HP web site states that this product should have the SD card slot.
2. The manual in the box states that it has SD card.
3. On the photos you can see the SD card slot.
and only the retailer's description states that it doesn't have the SD card slot.
This misleading information made possible more buyers to purchase the product. Personally, I don't don't know someone that trust the retailer's description; I always visit the official company's website to confirm the specs etc.
One way or the other thanks for you response.

I did not say I agreed. HP will often provide custom configured units to large vendors. But why make a bunch of Chromebooks and leave off the card reader? I'm also not really sure what your resolution would be. I doubt HP will take your Lewis unit and give you one with the card reader.
