Dear Team

I purchased a refurbished Elitebook a few weeks ago. When booting up, I get a MPM screen asking me for Feature Byte; Build ID, Serial Number (which I have); SKU Number and Product Name (which I have).

How can I get hold of the feature byte, build id and sku number? Thank you.

The company that refurbished your laptop was supposed to use the HP DMI tool to enter those values.

"How can I get hold of the feature byte, build id and sku number?" That is a question we can't provide the answer to.

There is a utility available in the  public sphere  (the HP Proprietary DMI firmware utility) that is needed to enter the values.

Getting the feature build information would require you to open the laptop and know where all of the values are located.

I would contact the seller and ask for an RMA.

Otherwise, that nagging error message isn't going to go away.
