When my laptop is closed and the bottom part of the laptop is facing upwards, the two screws on the top left side of my laptop have gone missing. Because of this, whenever I open my laptop now, it is causing my laptop to split open, making the hinge very loose. From looking at the forums here, it seems I just need to replace the screws and hinges. Where can I get this replaced? Can I just order them and do it myself? Please help!

15-j073ca. That is the model and it is a few years old now. Yes your best bet is to get the parts and install them. Do you think you are able to do that? If so post back and we will link you to a manual with instructions and maybe a video and also can help find the parts. If you are lucky it is only the hinges and they can be purchased for about $25 US.

Well it's not so much the hinge thats the issue, it's the screws and then the part that the screws screw into that would need replacing. There was loose plastic inside of the laptop that I managed to get out. I am pretty sure it is from where the screws were being held. The hinge is only getting loose because of the screws not being where they should. The loss of these screws at the bottom of my laptop is what is causing the bottom to split open. Where can I order these?

The hinges are seizing causing the screws to work out of their holes. You have to replace the hinges or you will just have the situation continue to get worse. The part that the screws go into is actually a part of the hinges; the support structure kind of like the footers on a bridge.
You need to study the Manual and figure exactly how the parts go together and ask yourself what can make screws just come out of their holes?

Hi,
Most likely the plastic which holds the " nuts " has broken off and you will need more than just screws. Please take a look t similar thread where you can maybe get some ideas.
You can also look at these HP videos for that model for any fix you try to perform
