Pavilion 15-AU010WM
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This laptop was sent to HP for repairs some time ago.  Now the user noticed the screen was wobbly.  I looked at the bottom of laptop and noticed one screw was missing in one corner.  I also noticed both rear corners were wobbly.  I wanted to remove the one screw that was left to see if I can replace it.  But it turns and turns.  These screws would sit in the hole just fine, but they would not screw in.  I think the last technician at HP to repair it put in wrong screws and now they are falling out.  How do I get the RIGHT screws for the 2 rear corners of this laptop?

Can you show an image of the places you mean?

Here is the part number for the hardware screw kit for your notebook. HP p/n 856382-001

You can purchase the kit online from many vendors or even find it on Amazon.com. See the search I did for the screw kit below this line.

I took out one of the other screws on the base.  They are smaller then the 2 circled.  The manual implies the screws are all the same, but they are not.  Can you verify this?

HP Recommended

I do not have access to an identical notebook to verify that.

I thought I'd update you on what I discovered.  I put laptop under microscope.  The hole that the screw just drops into, there are NO threads.  The part inside that the screw is suppose to thread into is not there.  😞
