I want to upgrade my notebook's ram which come with a 4gb stick installed.i want install another ram with same specifications but with 8gb volume. My question is will the system support this configuration and will I still be able to get Dual Channel support on this mixture.
I have searched the whole internet. Some says it kinda works some says never mix ram it won't work. I'm confused please help. Thank you

Hi:
You can install a max of 2 x 8 GB of memory in your notebook.
4 GB + 8 GB will work fine, but will only run in single channel mode like it is now with one empty memory slot.
In order for the memory to run in dual channel mode, you have to install matching capacities in both slots (2 x 4 GB, 2 x 8 GB).
