Dears,

I have 2x8GB modules and I would like to update it to 2x16GB. How to choose compatible ones and how to order and buy?

Thank you

Hi:

In order to be able to answer your question, I would need to know the full model number or product number of your notebook.

Hi:

According to the product number you posted, you have a HP Transcend 16 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-u0000 model series.

The parts list indicates that HP installed 8 GB DDR5-4800 MHz memory chips.

Below is the link to the service manual:

Maintenance and Service Guide

Chapter 1 has the memory upgrade information and chapter 5 has the memory removal and replacement procedure.

Below is the link to the service teardown video as well:

According to the Crucial memory report for the model series, this 32 GB memory kit should be compatible with your notebook:

Crucial 32GB Kit (16GBx2) DDR5-4800 SODIMM | CT2K16G48C40S5 | Crucial.com

You should be able to buy this memory kit on Amazon.de

Thank you for prompt and detailed reply.

But I am bit confused, since currently in my laptop I have:

MiloradB_0-1754119529893.png

Wouldn't it be better to get modules with 5600MHz like currently and if yes which one is your recommendation with compatibility and lower latency?

Thank you a lot.

You're very welcome.

You can do that, but the parts list I posted for your notebook indicates your notebook came with a DDR5-4800 MHz memory chip.

M97595-001
SKO-SODIMM 8GB DDR5-4800 1.1v NECC

So, I guess the parts list was wrong.

The Intel i7-13700HX processor can only run the memory at a maximum speed of 4800 MHz.

Intel® Core™ i7-13700HX Processor

That is why I posted the link to the 4800 MHz memory kit.

Now, if you want to install the 5600 MHz memory kit, then this should be the one you need:

Crucial 32GB Kit (16GBx2) DDR5-5600 SODIMM | CT2K16G56C46S5 | Crucial.com

Crucial RAM 32GB Kit DDR5 5600MHz Laptop Memory CT2K16G56C46S5: Amazon.de: Computer & Accessories

It's actually a Euro less expensive.
