Hello Sir,
I am buying a hp notebook and it gets slow from starting. So, I think if I increase my RAM then its problem will be solved. In the notebook, I'm working coding part and documentation. It has 4 GB DDR3 RAM no external graphic card is there. One more thing problem is that when I open google chrome, visual code, and files together then it gives lack and no other software will open or run properly until I closed one of them.

Hi,
You say you have 4GB of DDR3 RAM. However, from the documentation of your notebook it says you have 4GB of DDR4 2133MHz RAM.
The notebook supports max 16GB of DDR4 2400MHz RAM (2x8GB) which will run at 2133MHz. You can purchase from your preferred brand. Yes, I would add at least 4GB in the empty slot. Nowadays I would say 8GB is what is needed and it will give a boost to the PC.
Example:
https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-15-ay503tu#memory
On page 56 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06189775
What you should also consider is replacing the Hard Drive with a 2.5" SATA3 SSD, This would give a great boost to the everyday performance of the PC.
Hope it helps,
David

Hello Sir,
One more question my RAM is 4 GB DDR4-2133 SDRAM if I increase my MHz like 8 GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM it gave effect on my motherboard. And my motherboard is which MHZ frequency used e.g. 2133 SDRAM or 2666 SODIMM. Can you suggest me the best RAM brand?

Hi Omprakash Maury,
You can use faster RAM with no problem and it will run at 2133MHz. It is usually easier and cheaper to find 2400MHz RAM than 2133MHz RAM.
I linked to Crucial RAM since I personally use it often without problems.

You should really install an SSD in the machine when you can, as it will give a great boost in the responsiveness of the system.
Take care,
David

Hi @niraj_gupta
You can replace the Hard Drive with a 2.5" SATA3 SSD such as the 2.5" Samsung 860 Evo or the Crucial MX500 or something similar.
Examples:
You can get of your desired capacity (no limit to size (capacity))
On page 44 of service manual you can see how the drive is installed or you could go to a local trusted computer repair shop who can do this easily.
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06189781
You will then need to rinstall the OS either by cloning the old drive
Using HP cloud recovery (create USB before replacing drive)
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06162205
or performing clean install with Microsoft media (create USB before replacing drive)
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
Usually, I just install an SSD of my desired capacity and remove the old drive. You could buy a housing for the old drive and use it as an external USB drive.
The upgrade will give a great boost in everyday performance.
Let me know if you need further help,
David
