Hey guys,
is there somewhere any information about what type of motherboard, including soldered graphics chip, can I replace that the original one(17F6) without graphics chip? Or is there any option to solder the graphics chip onto the motherboard? Will it be functional?
I am looking for all the upgrades that can be done on my HP ProBook 4540s.
Thanks for your advice

Hi,
Try this maintenance and service guide: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03758231
There is an option for a dedicated AMD Radeon HD7650 1/2GB VGA. It's an Ivy Bridge architecture system so a bit older (I have got one myself). There are appropriate part numbers on page 32 and 33 for the right OS motherboard configuration (impossible to solder a vga chip on any motherboard so two different options are available). The motherboard could cost over £150 used and you also need a different heat-sink for the dedicated vga too. That could be like a £200 investment which like a 30% price of a decent laptop with nVidia GTX1050 4GB.

HP Microserver Gen8 10TB Debian Server
