I want to upgrade my 8gigs RAM (2x4) to 16gigs (2x8), but I can't find my motherboard specs. My max ram compatibility is 32 gigs, and I want to see if my motherboard supports 8 gig RAM modules for the 2 slots that I have. I looked on the product page for my computer, but there was nothing about the 881B motherboard I have.

HP only has a service manual for the original 17-by1xxx model series, so you will not find any motherboard information for the 17-by4xxx model series.

If the notebook has an Intel Core processor with 2 x 4 GB of memory, you can install 2 x 8 GB of memory or 2 x 16 GB of memory.
These should be compatible 8 GB and 16 GB memory chips for your notebook:
