HP ENVY x360 - 15m-cn0012dx

Hello, I am wanting to learn if I have additional motherboard storage slots on my HP ENVY x360 - 15m-cn0012dx. I have tried searching and have not found any useful information about the motherboard. I am hoping to learn if I can just install another SSD or if I need to clone the current drive since there is only 1 storage slot. I would be fine with installing another NVME M.2 drive or a 2.5 drive if that is another option. Thanks in advance!

System Specs: HP ENVY x360 - 15m-cn0012dx

Processor: i7-8550U

Ram: 12 GB

Storage: 256 GB SSD (I believe).

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

Maintenance and Service Guide HP ENVY x360 Convertible PC

Chapter 1 has the supported drive configurations.

There is only one M.2 slot, and while the manual indicates there is support for a 2.5" drive + a M.2 SSD, your guess is as good as mine as to what parts/part numbers you need to use in order to add a 2.5" drive.

Chapter 3 does not list any hard drive part numbers, brackets or cables.

Chapter 5 does not have a procedure to remove or replace the hard drive.

I suggest that if you need more storage that you replace the 256 GB NVMe SSD with one having a greater storage capacity.

If you plan on cloning the drive, you can purchase a USB3/USB-C to NVMe adapter to clone the 256 GB drive's contents to the new NVMe SSD.

Something like this:
