HP Chromebook x360 14a-ca0061nf

Good evening,

I found an HP Chromebook x360 14a. The motherboard is damaged. I would like to know if there are more performing motherboards (perhaps with the possibility of inserting RAM and SSD...😁) compatible with my device. Thanks in advance!

Hi @THE_DOCTOR_G11,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I see you're looking to give your HP Chromebook x360 14a a performance boost, but unfortunately, swapping in a more powerful motherboard isn’t really an option.

Here’s why:
Model-Specific Motherboards – HP designs Chromebooks with everything (CPU, RAM, storage) soldered onto the board, so upgrading individual parts isn’t possible.
No Aftermarket Options – HP doesn’t offer high-performance replacement motherboards, and third-party alternatives simply don’t exist.

If you’re after better performance, here are a couple of options:
Consider a Windows or Linux laptop that allows RAM and SSD upgrades.
Look into other HP Chromebooks that support NVMe SSDs and slightly better processors, though RAM will still likely be soldered.

Let me know if you need recommendations!
