I would not be replying if a resolve were in this form. Wife's laptop has same symptoms. What is the HP resolve to desirable (exception it doesn't work) laptiop?

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
Thnak you

Update: Contacted HP support who walked thru a number of tests (which had previously been accomplished) to come to the conclusion the MB was most likely root cause. While accomplishing this array of tests, my wife noticed that during one of the apply power and remove power the amber power indication light on the AC adaptor port on the MB illuminated amber for a brief moment. Working with this change in behavior and removing and applying power to the power supply from the wall (110-120 VAC) the amber light will remain illuminated. Doc's for this laptop indicate that a solid amber is indication of battery state of 1-99% discharge state and that the battery IS BEING charged. Given the laptop does NOT operate on battery power, it state is MUCH closer to 1% than any higher amount.
Odd behavior is that when the NEW battery (obtained from AMZ on 27feb2019) is installed, the amber MB AC power port does NOT illuminate, indicating the battery is NOT being charged.
I've ordered a new AC port adapter ($11 ebay) that attaches to the MB that accepts the single 19.5 vdc 2.31amps and then dist different voltages (19.3, 14.7, 6) over these (Wires: 2 whites, 1 yellow1 brown, , 2 blacks and 2 reds). Note that the voltages posted here are what I observed, NOT what is supposed to be (I do not have a service manual to know what the voltages should be).

I am also extremely frustrated. I had a Spectre for a few years and loved it. Needed to upgrade when I started my small business because I needed Windows Professional for encryption, and more space (I was out of room and couldn't run quickbooks). I purchased a new Spectre x360 - 13t in June 2018. I didn't actually start using it until July or August. I expected another good experience.
This $1600 laptop did not meet expectations. It is a lemon.
The speakers always sounded weird, but I adapted. Then in October 2019, my laptop started crashing. Turned out it was a fan problem. I had a local person replace the fans and the speakers, which were in fact, faulty the whole time. Okay. $400 later, all good. Then, suddenly, it died yesterday. Took it back in. Motherboard is shot. Costly to replace. Despite multiple posts about this problem, HP insists this is not a known issue, so will do nothing to remedy the situation. So. My $1600 laptop, which I relied on for my small business, is now useless after less than 16 months. And my stuff is gone. Luckily I have backups for many things, but this is just crushing. I am shocked at HP's indifference to their customers and reluctance to stand behind their products. And complete lack of concern that they are now producing such shoddy products.
Is the useful life really less than 16 months for these laptops? This is the reputation you want now? As a small business owner, I need products that are reliable. Who makes those now that HP is out of the reliable laptop game?
