Hi. 
Can i change motherboard between different generation Elitebooks? Eg. Add a G7 motherboard to a G3 Elitebook and so “upgrade” the cpu ?

Compatibility is not a flexible concept. Your laptop is designed to fit only the part numbered motherboards made for it. You can't install anything else and laptops even one generation apart will use motherboards that have different attachment points, shape size, etc.

No, the location of ports and screws won't fit and not on the right places
