Hi @KDDL
If the mouse for your HP Pro Tower 280 G9 PCI Desktop PC is not working, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Check Connections
- Ensure Proper Connection: Make sure that the mouse is properly connected to the computer. If it's a wired mouse, check that the USB connector is securely plugged into a USB port on the computer.
- Try Another Port: Test the mouse in another USB port. This can help determine if the issue is with the port itself.
Test the Mouse
- Test with Another Device: If possible, try using the mouse with another computer to see if it works. This can help determine if the mouse is faulty.
Check for Battery Issues
- Wireless Mouse: If you are using a wireless mouse, ensure that the batteries are charged and inserted correctly.
Update or Reinstall Drivers
- Device Manager: Access the Device Manager in Windows and check under the "Mice and other pointing devices" section. If there are any exclamation marks or issues, you might need to update or reinstall the mouse drivers.
Software Updates
- Windows Update: Ensure your Windows operating system is updated. Sometimes, updates can resolve issues with peripherals.
Hardware Fault
- Consider Replacement: If none of the above solutions work, there might be a fault with the mouse, and you might need to replace it.
