Hi,

I am facing this issue of the cursor jumping around or going back to its previous position. This happens sporadically. At times it also changes the pointer's symbol to a small circular looking shape. Also, it sometimes deselects stuff automatically. An example of this is, it would deselect text that I would have highlighted to change the font. I might be wrong but I started to notice this problem ever since I installed the most recent Windows 10 update.

To resolve the issue, I checked it with the following scenarios but to no success.

1. Updated all drivers of the mice, touchscreen, external mice.

2. Disabled touchpad and checked with an external mouse

3. Disabled touchscreen and checked with an external mouse

4. Installed latest Synaptics TouchPad driver

5. One of the forums suggested removal of RealTek Audio Manager, I attempted that as well.

Looking forward to fixing this soon as the experience of using this laptop currently is extremely painful. Help, please!

Welcome to HP support community.

Go to bios and check if the issue persists.

  1. Turn on or restart the computer.
  2. While the display is blank, press the f10 key to enter the BIOS settings menu.

Reply with the response for further assistance.

Cheers.
