Hi there for anyone reading,

My laptops mouse pad has recently had serious issues.
Symptoms:

-Mis registering multiple inputs: Scrolling or changing zoom, sometimes it registers up to 4 fingers with evidence being that it will try to change desktops.

-Not registering any input at all or partial input: Mouse will not show any sign of movement, halfway through a swipe it will react on seemingly random spot of the mouse pad and then not anymore in the same spot, clicks work on occasion but not in any spot in particular.

-Moving mouse to seemingly random positions: When it does register input it ignores the direction I'm intending with no pattern that I can see, mouse might suddenly disappear from the screen and reappear elsewhere during a swipe.
-It will work perfectly fine after a boot for a few minutes and then show its symptoms, sometimes after enough time the pad will start working again like normal and then fail minutes after.

My attempts to troubleshoot:

-Disabling and re enabling device using Elan Touchpad Setting
                       -Uninstalling and re installing drivers

                       -Updating drivers
                       -Restarting laptop
-Changing sensitivity settings within windows settings and Elan Touchpad Settings

                       -Resetting settings to defaults

                       -getting mad

Model: HP Pavillion - 15 -cw0005cy
(with added ram and ssd)

If anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated or ask if I need to add more information.
If there's nothing that can be done I'm planning on replacing the entire mouse pad itself.

Sincerely,
Jorge Orozco
