HP Spectre x360 - 13t-ae000 CTO

Powered up laptop and  external monitor was not displaying.  The USB-C hub and monitor worked fine from another laptop.  HP Hardware diagnostics said it could not run on my system and had no specifics on what to install.  Installing latest diagnostics did not resolve it.  So what is issue?  USB port? Display driver?   Solutions was  not to update drivers or BIOS but rather

 

  • From a powered down condition, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
