My battery exploded on 01/10/2024 while I was using it!

There was no visible swelling before the incident, the computer was warm not hot, there was no overheating notification. The laptop was plugged in charging and then there was a loud bang, hissing, sparks, a short flame and the computer was fried. My entire room and home was filled with smoke and fumes it was a scary incident.

I thought it could have possibly been the charger but my powerstrip where the charger was plugged into did not trip. I am very good with ventilating my computer and I stop using my laptop once the fans begin to sound louder. This is just so sad. The next morning after it cooled off, my dad checked the laptop again and saw that the mouse pad was melted and part of the glass screen was warped from the heat since it was closed.

I got my computer around late 2018/early 2019 and it has been so good to me with no signs of any deterioration to the battery that would indicate it was dying out. I am just starting my spring classes and my computer is gone. Not even Best Buy was able to help me find out what happened or even recycle the laptop due it being too hazardous for them to take it in. I had to take it to a local electronics recycling center near me.

Can some one from HP support contact me as soon as possible?!??
