Hello,

My hp laptop battery health is 70 percent. I am shocked because I rarely used my laptop on battery because I have been using  my laptop mostly connected with charger then how it's capacity has degraded that much from 42Whr to 30Whr?

Moreover When my Battery reaches at 20-30%, It switches off my laptop. Is that normal or should it reach to 0% before  switching off?Screenshot (10).png

Yes.  I would certainly replace it if it were mine.

Is it still in warranty? I suspect not, but do not know for sure.

When a notebook battery has reached the point to where it shuts the notebook down at an indicated 20-30% it is no longer reliable.

Actually letting a LiON battery reach 0% is a bad thing for a battery's longevity and service life.

Yes, my notebook's warranty has expired. Did you mean that battery should reach 0% before shutting down the notebook?

HP Recommended

Ah, no.

Just as I stated before, discharging it down to zero is a bad thing for a lithium Ion battery. Doing that can permanently damage the battery.

Back in the days of NiCads that would have been OK.

NiCad and LiON batteries have very different chemistry compositions and differing warnings and methods of charging and discharging.

I think you misunderstood. I am sorry if I didn't make myself clear before. I was asking that, At what battery percentage, should a notebook to be turned off, should it be 0% or above than that in case of a good and reliable battery?

Bro, I am also having one more problem with my notebook that Touchpad Scrolling Sensitivity becomes abnormally high in some Applications For Eg. "Microsoft Store" and "Microsoft Edge" and abnormally low in Apps like "Settings". I have tried updating drivers from Window optional driver update but issue still persists. It would be a great help, If you could help me in finding solutions for it.

Thanks.
