HP Spectre X360 - 13-Ae045tu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have HP Spectre 13" Notebook having 8GB RAM and 256GB Storage. Can I upgrade it to 16GB RAM and 500GB Storage?

Hi:

You can't upgrade the memory because it is an integral part of the motherboard, but you can install a larger capacity NVMe drive.

The memory comes pre-configured in either 8 or 16 GB capacities.  Non-removable, non-upgradable.

Below is the link to the service manual...

The manual you shared contain te Storage specification as follows -

256-GB, M.2 2280/DS, SATA-3, PCIe, NVMe, solid-state drive with TLC

I've found the following from my laptop's task manager -

Current SK hynix PC401 HFS256GD9TNG-62A0A

I searched this and found the following device in Amazon -

https://www.amazon.com/SK-Hynix-256GB-Solid-State/dp/B075QMZ1LC

(SK Hynix 256GB M.2 SSD (Solid State Drive) NVMe PCIe Model: HFS256GD9MND-5510A BA - OEM)

I'm not able to match the specification between these. A little bit confused to chose right spec for my upgraded SSD storage.

When I search the drive model number you posted, it shows up as a NVMe drive.

I was able to find a 512 GB model of what you have now...

How would I know whether laptop's connector socket is M key or B key?

I've already purchased HP EX950 2280 NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD. I'm thinking how could I be able to disassemble and replace it myself.
