Spectre
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

As noted in other user posts, my HP Spectre gets really hot when charging.  The fans run at full speed blowing hot air.  I tried updating the BIOS to no effect.  Even when almost no apps are running, so the machine is not taxed at all, it get really hot.  If I unplug the adaptor, the fans eventually stop and it isn't too hot.  But as soon as I plug it in, it gets hot and the fans crank up again.  Sometimes it gets hot when in sleep mode!

Something is wrong with the battery management/charging logic!

Hi@Art_H2,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

You have done the basic troubleshooting as per the document and the notebook needs to check to get to know its hardware is faulty, not a software issue.

I'd suggest you contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer or HP Chat Support Team.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
