I removed YouCam thinking it was bloatware and I believe that has caused my webcam to stop working.

The webcam is  a HP Truevision HD:

USB\VID_0BDA&PID_5775&REV_0007&MI_00
USB\VID_0BDA&PID_5775&MI_00

I have reinstalled youcam, multiple versions including the one that came with m PC using HPs recovery program.

I have followed multiple other forum threads which has included:

Uninstalling the device on device manager.

Searching for a driver.

Locating the driver manually.

Restoring (unfortunately only to a point just after removing Youcam).

Running the driver as admin.

Running the driver with different compatibility settings.

Running Youcam - this just leads to no camera being detected.

Restarting my computer a million times.

Updating windows.

Why is there no driver that works?

How can i get this to work?

Please don't tell me to do a clean reboot. I don't even understand how that would work as I would still have to install Youcam again after the clean reboot.

This is what I have to look at every time it fails.

This is also an equally frustrating sight.

I've read so many other suggestions but I'm having no joy.

Please help, I need to teach online.

@blaaaja

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. I would suggest performing system factory reset will put the computer back to the original factory settings in this way all corrupted and outdated software will be removed.

While doing the recovery there is an option to backup your personal files. If you have not previously done one now is a good time.

Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows )You can also contact HP support for assistance. They can remotely access your system to help alleviate difficulties: www.hp.com/contacthp/

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
