Hi,

My computer fan runs constantly at about 55% (min 55%, max 57,5%).

CPU Temp is about 46*C

Its a fresh install, and all the latest updates from HP Support Assistant has been downloaded.

No additional software has been installed, except NoteBook FanControl to get this thing debugged.

The issue seem to have appeared after the latest BIOS update. But its kind of hard to pinpoint as i was installing a lot of the drivers at the same time.

This is an extremly annoying issue! The computer is brand new, just out of the box!

I see there are other posts about this on the forum as well, without answers. All which seems to come right after your BIOS update.

Did you try the latest BIOS update that was released in february?

I have not yet tried it myself - but if you try it - let me know if it solves the issue or not!

I am having a similar issue, though the fan is not constantly at max. It seems to be maxed out whenever there's a YouTube video open in a browser. Is it possible the graphics card is generating an unreasonable amount of heat when streaming video on the web?

I'm having the same problem.  Old laptop was slow, but I miss it a lot because I never heard it. This thing is louder than my powerhouse desktop. 😞

I've install Notebook FanControl (search for it) and am using the Zbook G3 setting. It helps just a bit.. but really not that much. I don't think I can deal with that whistling fan all day long. Sad.

It has been over a year.

Has this been resolved yet?

My fan is one despite the fact that I put the laptop into sleep!
