Whatever about your selection option here. Jeez!
I can t find what I am there
My HP envy 360 17"laptop will not recharge now .
After replacing the Battery carefully everything worked on the partial charge in the new battery.
All lit up operated all good but would accept power into the new battery
Now it's dead. I went inside again a look at at the hook ups and there is nothing wrong. All connection perfect.
Have trid all the answers in the community help area and none work. including a power key pressing and windows + B
Both of the charger I have for this lap top work.
Help or pass this question on to the right place for answers. The COmmunity Help area erased my question and kicked me out with out any auto save done sent me to to a Place that had no Power Question in the menu. The virtual Chat was so stupid I will not go back there.
Please Help or pass this question on to the right place for answers.

@aaaddison, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Envy 360!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand how frustrating this situation must be, and I appreciate you trying multiple troubleshooting steps already. I’ll do my best to assist you in resolving this issue.
Since your HP Envy x360 17" was initially working on the partial charge from the new battery but now won’t power on or charge, let’s go through some additional checks:
Perform a Hard Reset (If Not Done Already)
- Disconnect the charger and remove the battery (if it's removable).
- Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds to discharge residual power.
- Reinsert the battery, plug in the charger, and try turning on the laptop.
Verify the Power Adapter and Port
- Since you mentioned both chargers are working, ensure the charging port is clean and free of dust/debris.
- If possible, try charging another compatible HP laptop with the same adapter to confirm functionality.
Check Battery Connection Again
- Even though all connections seem fine, it’s worth carefully rechecking the battery connector and ribbon cable inside the laptop.
- If the battery is not detected at all, you might want to reseat it and ensure all pins are aligned properly.
Perform a BIOS Reset (Windows Key + B)
You mentioned trying Windows + B, but here’s a step-by-step approach to ensure it's done correctly:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Hold Windows + B and then press and hold the Power button for about 2-3 seconds.
- Release the power button but keep holding Windows + B until you see the HP BIOS screen or hear beeping.
- If the BIOS recovery starts, follow the on-screen instructions.
Test with Battery Removed
- If your laptop has a removable battery, try turning it on with just the charger plugged in (without the battery).
- If it powers on this way, the battery may be faulty or not seated correctly.
I truly appreciate your patience, and I’m here to help if you need further clarification on any of the steps. Let me know how it goes!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hi Zoey zoey7886,
With your well worded and thoughtful response it was first to help me solve my battery problem. During the time I found another look at the HP.com had a specific battery laptop battery area site , which was also well worded. The process was low to give way to success due to power on lights, self-restarts of the computer. Then I had some how pressed the key reducing my screen brightness to black which left mt thinking my computer was not doing anything for a long time until I pressed brightness again... ha ha dimness of User. But also when setting the BIOS it runs 3 events, sooo took along time but I did not have to do anything but reset the BIOs. At last I will note that the dead battery takes along time to show a visible amount of recharging. Put your cursor on the battery symbol to get a numerical readout on the recharging process. when it i going up slowly there you will know all is well.
Thanks so much the Zoey who answered when Called. HP is pretty good too.
I give them both AAA"s
