Common problems for Battery
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about: Battery Reports, Hold a charge, Test and Calibrating Battery . Check out this link: Is your notebook plugged in and not charging?
HP Recommended

My HP laptop is just over one year old and the battery has completely failed.

HP Battery Diagnostics report Battery Status: Replace, Charge State: Not Charging, with a Failure ID. The battery will not accept any charge and stays around 12–14% even when the laptop is powered off.

I have already disabled Adaptive Battery Optimizer in BIOS, so this is not a charging limit issue. My warranty expired recently on 20 October.

This appears to be a hardware battery failure rather than normal wear. I’m kindly asking if this can be reviewed for goodwill battery replacement or escalation to HP support.image0.jpegimage0.jpeg

Hi @KLABELLE,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for sharing the detailed screenshots and context. I can clearly see from the HP Diagnostics report that:

  • Battery Status: Replace (Failure ID: UCXL30-CAFC7D-MFPVG-C7G303)
  • Charge State: Not Charging
  • Cycle Count: 400
  • Remaining Capacity: 4.27 Wh (extremely low)
  • Current: 0 mA (battery is not accepting any charge)

This confirms a hardware battery failure, not a software or BIOS setting issue. You’ve already disabled Adaptive Battery Optimizer, so the charging limit feature is not the cause.

To get the device repaired or serviced, I would request you to please reach the HP Authorized stores near you so the team can help you better.
