OMEN Laptop - 15-ek0120nd
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have an Omen laptop for about a year now, but it has always had an issue where in the middle of either browsing the internet or playing a game the laptop blue screens on me. It keeps occurring more often lately. I have already done the steps through the HP website to ensure all the latest drivers and updates have been installed, but it keeps blue screening randomly.. The temperatures of the components are all quite normal, since i've inspected through SPECCY. I don't understand why it keeps blue screening.

My warranty is still active and I wonder what I can do here. Fixing it myself doesn't seem to work. Maybe it's something internal? Could I send it over, get a replacement instead?

Thanks for taking the time to read my problem!

Hi@Kimberly_123,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing blue screen error issues with the HP Omen Notebook.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • Try doing Reset PC Keep my files from windows and check if it works.
  • Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics is a Windows-based utility that allows you to run diagnostic tests to determine whether the computer hardware is functioning properly. The tool runs within the Windows operating system in order to diagnose hardware failures.

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Click here for the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10) link.

If the issue still persists then it could be a hardware issue on the PC.

Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options.
