My keyboard spacebar is locked up and it takes heavy strikes or several or continuous pressure to function. I did all recommended fixes and had no luck

Hi @GZRmikey94,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing an issue with your OMEN 16.1-inch gaming laptop's spacebar. When a key on a laptop keyboard is malfunctioning, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem.
- Check for physical obstructions: Make sure there is no debris, dust, or any other objects obstructing the spacebar key. If you see any foreign materials, gently clean the area around the key using compressed air or a soft brush.
- Restart your laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix minor software glitches that may be causing the issue. Save your work and restart your laptop to see if the spacebar starts functioning properly.
- Test in different applications: Try using the spacebar key in different applications or text editors to see if the issue is specific to a particular software or system-wide. If it only occurs in certain applications, it could be related to the software settings rather than a hardware problem.
- Update keyboard drivers: Outdated or faulty keyboard drivers can sometimes cause keyboard malfunctions. Visit the HP website or use the device manager to check for any available updates for your keyboard or laptop. Install any updates and restart your laptop to see if the issue is resolved.
- Use an external keyboard: As a temporary solution, you can connect an external keyboard to your laptop and use it until the spacebar issue is resolved. If the external keyboard works without any problems, it indicates that the issue is likely with the laptop's built-in keyboard itself.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
