My Pavilion 23xi does not come back on again after going to sleep. Another monitor works OK so the fault is certainly in the Pavilion 23xi. Electronics is my line of work so if I could get hold of a circuit diagram i should be able to work it out unless it is a known problem in which case someone might be able to let me know the cause of the problem.

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.
I have gone through your Post and I would like to help
Please download the Monitor driver from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-23-inch-displays/7274717/model/5304241
Also use the buttons on the front of the display to open the on-screen menu, and select Factory Reset or Default.
If the issue persists, please check your private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile.
Next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope
Thank you and have a great weekend 😊

I'm afraid downloading the driver and resetting to Factory did not work. I connected up a portable TV which has an HDMI socket and used it as a monitor and it seems to work OK. So I suppose that confirms that the Pavilion 23xi is faulty and that my HP Laptop is operating OK. Is there anything else I can do to confirm this. I am very reluctant to ditch my monitor which is not too long out of guarantee.
