Hello, @Vijesh_1986 – Greetings!
Allow me to welcome to HP Support Forums! It is a great platform to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!
I understand that your pen drive is write protected. Please try the steps recommended below to disable the write protection on USB drives:
- In the windows search type regedit open Registry Editor
- Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
- Right-click and create a New Key named as StorageDevicePolicies.
- Highlight StorageDevicePolicies, and then create a New DWORD (32-bit) Value named as WriteProtect.
- Double click on WriteProtect, and set its value data to 1.
Or try the following steps.
1. Start > Run -> type “CMD” and press enter
2. type< diskpart
3. type< list volume
4. type< select volume # (# is the number of the USB HDD you’ve pluged in)
5. type< attributes disk clear readonly
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Good luck 🙂
