I connect the laptop to a projector using and adapter and I receive no signal. I tried with another laptop and it works.

How do I know if my laptop usb-c is a displayport?

From specs:

 

1 USB Type-C™ 3.1 Gen 1 (Data Transfer Only)

 

So the USB-C carries no native video signal. The only way to get video out of it is to use a port replicator with an active adapter using DisplayLink technology. Something like this:

A simple USB-C to HDMI or VGA will not work.
