To replace the battery in your HP Notebook 15-Da0018cy, follow these steps:

If you are comfortable opening the laptop then please try the below steps

Tools Needed:

  • Phillips-head screwdriver
  • Plastic opening tool (optional)

Steps to Replace the Battery:

Power Off and Unplug:

  • Shut down your laptop and disconnect the power adapter.
  • Disconnect any other peripherals (e.g., mouse, keyboard, external drives).

Remove the Back Cover:

  • Place the laptop on a soft surface, such as a towel or cloth, to avoid scratches.
  • Turn the laptop upside down.
  • Use the Phillips-head screwdriver to remove all the screws securing the back cover.
  • Keep track of the screws as they may vary in size and length.

Open the Back Cover:

  • Use a plastic opening tool to gently open the back cover. Start from one corner and work your way around the edges.
  • Be cautious not to apply too much force to avoid damaging the plastic clips.

Locate the Battery:

  • Once the back cover is removed, locate the battery. It is a rectangular component and usually placed near the bottom of the laptop.

Disconnect the Battery:

  • Identify the battery connector attached to the motherboard.
  • Carefully disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard by pulling it straight out. Be gentle to avoid damaging the connector.

Remove the Battery:

  • Remove any screws securing the battery in place.
  • Lift the battery out of the laptop.

Install the New Battery:

  • Place the new battery into the slot where the old battery was.
  • Secure the battery with the screws you removed earlier.
  • Reconnect the battery cable to the motherboard.

Reassemble the Laptop:

  • Place the back cover back onto the laptop.
  • Press around the edges to ensure the cover snaps back into place.
  • Reinsert and tighten all the screws to secure the back cover.

Power On and Test:

  • Reconnect the power adapter and turn on your laptop.
  • Check if the new battery is recognized and charging properly.
  • Allow the battery to charge fully and test its performance.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
